The Monday : Office Hours & Home

Woke up at 07:50 AM today and saw full-on laundry work happening at the back porch. We recently came back from our Dehradun–Paonta trip, and the work was at maximum pace at my home! Cleaning, dusting, preparing breakfast, clothes, etc.—so much to do with mummy.

I started my day with overnight-soaked fennel seeds and carom seeds water since I had bloating, gastric, and xyz issues for the last few days. It felt light after that, and I began preparing breakfast while mummy was washing and drying up three big lots of our clothes.

I’m currently reading the book Karma by Sadhguru. I feel it really helps untie the inner mental knots of the so-called philosophies coming from the very beginning of good and bad deeds, poor and rich, highs and lows, happy and sad, etc. I have completed two chapters so far, and this book also shows the spiritual side of the world. I tried to incorporate some of its learnings today into my tiny habits—the ones I usually did unconsciously all the time. I felt light, free, and more conscious of the world around me.

Anyways… after that, I had breakfast with mummy, and we watched the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. We then had a little discussion on education, dreams, dropouts, etc. This was a vast area to look into, so we cut it short and went to the terrace to dry clothes in the sun. Post that, I took a short bath with Punjabi songs playing ;) Then I prepared lunch and sat at my creative self-made job to finish.

I completed a song that I was writing for the past few days. It’s called The Happiest One—just a piano piece for now, but I’ll soon record and upload it for you guys on Instagram. I’m revealing this because you’re one of those who clicks on my blog links from my Instagram story, waiting to unwrap everything that happened in my day. That’s such a big form of respect and love from you guys.

How would I repay this? Maybe someday with a concert for you, or by sending letters? Anything is possible in this world, right? And one thing that you guys have made possible is the constant support and love you’ve given me all these years. Thank you, my heart lies in yours forever.

I also sent personalized campaign emails to those who subscribed to my website (subscribing is free, of course ;) I hope my subscribers received the email! (If not visible, please check your spam or promotions folder.) It has one big photo of me and an interesting story about how I wrote my latest song Delhi Cantt.

Post lunch, I logged in for office work and began with the usuals. (Even now, while writing this, I’m in a meeting ;) Then I took a 50-minute evening nap, woke up, and joined the 5 PM meeting where we have to give updates to our seniors. Honestly, I really hate it, but I have to deal with it—this is my job, and it pays me. So yeah!

Mummy made me a banana shake during the meeting. Later, I passed time roaming around the house, made cheese Maggi, played with Parth, and then sat down to write a poem because I was experiencing some strong guilt feelings. Documenting them—especially in poetry form—made me feel lighter.

Dinner was at 9 PM. I made rotis, and after eating, mummy and I discussed my future. I always try to make it funny because mummy gets quite serious about anything related to me ;) But honestly, I love these uncomfortable conversations, especially about my future.

Then I scrolled Instagram, watched some reels, and since 11 PM I’ve been stuck in this ongoing meeting that feels like it will never end—ufff!

So, see you guys in the next blog! I’m always excited to share my upcoming stuff with you all. Hope you’re also loving my new website, blogs, poetries, and the little things I share through Insta, YouTube, etc.

LOVE YOU GUYS FOREVER.

Isha Goel :)
